Vesihelmi Spa and Swimming Centre
Vesihelmi is Forssa's combined public swimming pool and leisure spa, bringing together lane swimming, family pools, warm-water exercise, gyms, group exercise and meeting facilities under one roof.
Vesihelmi closed on 11 May 2025. According to the City of Forssa update published on 6 August 2026, the current estimate is that Vesihelmi will reopen in March 2027. A final opening date has not yet been confirmed.

Pools and water attractions
Vesihelmi has served both fitness swimmers and families. These were the published pool dimensions, depths and temperatures before closure:
- 25-metre pool
- 25 × 13 m, 6 lanes, 338 m², depth 1.2–3.8 m, water 27 °C
- Wave pool
- 320 m², depth 0–2.0 m, water 27 °C
- Family pool
- 106.5 m², depth 0.5–2.0 m, water 27 °C
- Therapy pool
- 87.5 m², depth 1.3 m, water 32 °C
- Children's pool
- 16.5 m², depth 20 cm, water 32 °C and a small water slide
- Whirlpools
- 2 pools, each 6 m², water 32 °C
- Cold-water pool
- 6.5 m², depth 1.3 m, water 10–12 °C

- 33 metres long, with timing and a 27 °C run-out pool
The complex also included a springboard, a three-metre diving tower, a wave machine, water jets and massage features. Check which attractions return and whether age, height or booking restrictions apply after reopening.
Exercise during the same visit
Gyms and indoor exercise
Before closure, general use of two gyms was included in the swimming admission fee and the visit did not have a separate time limit. The 2027 prices and conditions will be published later.
Gym 1
A free-weight and strength-training gym with several powerlifting bars, squat and bench racks, a power rack, leg press, hack squat, cable machines, Smith machine, dumbbells from 1 to 45 kg and kettlebells from 8 to 40 kg.
Gym 2
A versatile machine-training and group-exercise gym. Group bookings may restrict public access at certain times.
Functional training room
The civil-defence-shelter training area included punching bags, wall bars, medicine balls, kettlebells, ropes and exercise mats.
Cardio equipment
The lobby equipment included exercise bikes, cross-trainers, a treadmill, Wattbike, rowing machine and ski ergometer.
Group exercise studio
A 133 m² upstairs studio with mirrors, barres, mats and step platforms. Two table-tennis tables were available for an additional fee.

Children and families
A children's pool, family pool, wave pool and slides, plus children's swimming lessons and birthday packages in the private sauna before renovation.
Instructor-led aquatic exercise
Previous services included private swimming lessons, therapy-pool groups, SUP exercise, Hydrohex virtual aqua fitness and special events.
Private sauna
A fireside lounge for about 20 people, small equipped kitchen, refrigerators, toilets and cloakroom. The sauna and changing area accommodated about 10 people; the stated maximum group size was 23.
Meetings
Meeting rooms for companies, associations and groups. Pool and gym access could previously be included in a meeting day.
Café and equipment rental
A café and rental of swimwear and towels were available before renovation. Confirm the post-renovation services after reopening.

The price list still visible on Vesihelmi's website was prepared before closure and should not be treated as the valid 2027 price list. Check admission prices, concession groups, family tickets, multi-visit passes and whether gym use is included when reopening information is published.

Key rules used before closure
- Children under nine, non-swimmers and customers requiring special supervision must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over.
- Shower before entering the sauna or pools. Tie back long hair and cover dry hair with a swimming cap or shower cap.
- Wear swimwear intended for swimming. Swimwear is not worn in the sauna.
- Lock your changing-room locker. A limited number of deposit boxes were available at reception.
- The stated minimum age for the gym was 13.
- Pool and gym areas had to be vacated 30 minutes before closing; ticket sales ended one hour before closing.
In central Forssa
Getting there
Vesihelmi is just south of the town centre. The walk from Forssa bus station is about one kilometre. Vesihelmi's own published estimates put the road distance at about 116 km from Helsinki, 88 km from Turku, 100 km from Tampere and 57 km from Hämeenlinna.
Building and history
A distinctive Forssa swimming-hall building
Vesihelmi was completed in 1993 during Finland's early-1990s recession. Designed by Helin & Co Architects, it combined the straight geometry of a 25-metre competition pool with a free-form leisure-spa landscape. Curved glazed façades, rooflights, islands and connecting water spaces made the building unusual for its time.
